Dance Floor Heroes are Strictly Incredible

Dance Floor Heroes, the Strictly show for the general public, took over the Winter Gardens on Friday 14th June 2024 with a spectacular show to rival it's BBC inspiration!

Dance Floor Heroes saw 12 finalists from across the UK, 6 being from Blackpool & the Fylde coast, fight it out on the dance floor, to be crowned the dance champion. There was even a fabulous Glitter Ball trophy for the winner!

Presented by Strictly's own Ian Waite & Vincent Simone, alongside Blackpool radio legend Hayley Kay, the show raised the roof of the Empress Ballroom.

Judging the finalists, were dance royalty, Pasquale La Rocca, Pasha Kovalev, Joanne Clifton & current Strictly winner Vito Coppola.

The night was in aid of Blackpool born mental health charity Tia's Crown. Finalists had the challenge of fundraising for the charity, alongside the training for the show.

Raising just over £27,000.

Each finalist was teamed with a professional dance partner & trained for 6 weeks. They performed their routines live on Friday in front of a live audience in the ballroom plus an audience at home. A live stream, provided by Dance TV Ltd, saw the show streamed across the UK and as far as Italy!

The show is still available to view on the Dance TV website for the next few days on their playback service.

The eventual winner on the night was local lady, Linda Adams! Alongside her professional partner, Alexander Whyatt, the pair had the audience cheering as they performed an energetic Jive! Being crowned the winners by judges vote!

" The show is a complete spectacular & we are thrilled that it continues to grow in popularity. The audience on Friday night really had the time of their lives, as did the contestants. We want to make their dreams come true & give them memories that will last. Not only do they get to perform, Strictly style, but their outfits come directly from the Strictly set. Plus, of course, our hosts & judges just make the experience unforgettable"

" The dedication from our finalists in their fundraising was something the charity was astounded by. The finalists took on the challenge & really put their hearts behind it. From organising raffles & bake sales, there was creative challenges & performances plus, abseiling Anfield & climbing the big one at the pleasure beach. They really took the charity to a new level & we are blown away by their efforts, plus of course, the total they raised!"

Dance Floor Heroes will be back next year & will soon be opening applications for the next set of dance hopefuls!
