The Dance Review - Kyle Taylor Reports on the U21 Solo Latin at the All England Championships 2025

1st Evie Rush

Making it a double victory! Evie won this competition from the first round, and didn’t put a foot wrong all day. Her balance is absolutely impeccable, and she completes every action with incredible ease. Her hard work is evident, as only great technique can allow for such a powerful performance. Congratulations!

2nd Ellie Smith

Ellie is a very powerful and impactive dancer. The main issue I have noted is an inconsistency in her performances. Not from competition to competition, but from dance to dance. This, I feel, may come from a lack of understanding in the specific techniques of each individual dance. If this was improved, Ellie would become a real force to be reckoned with.

3rd Emanuele de Santis

Emanuele was a very convincing finalist from the first round, and was firmly over his feet at all times, allowing for his rhythm to then naturally show on top.

A little less ‘stopping’ would have benefitted his performance, as when Emanuele did dance, it was of a very high level.

4th Fabiana Cipoletta

Fabiana gave a great performance in the final, and was very consistent throughout. A lot of high energy and high impact was on show. Perhaps a little more balance of musical and rhythmical changes would help to soften her overall look.

5th Clarice Hartwell

I thought Clarice could have finished much higher, on this occasion. I like that Clarice keeps her performance quite contained, and there is a clear priority on technique, rather than just impact or power. This approach makes me feel very at ease when watching her. However, perhaps, this is also what costs her in the competition battlefield, when a little more intensity may be required.

6th Antonio Boccia

Antonio was very visible throughout the competition, and completed this very strong final. I felt Antonio had some issues with his musical interpretations, as it appeared that speed became the sole priority. Speed is not a bad thing, of course. But, it must be used in conjunction to other contrasting speeds. However, a very strong performance, so well done!
